We Look Beyond the Credit Score

Sometimes a credit score doesn't tell the whole story.

Recently, someone came to Community Focus after being referred by a friend who told her that our team would take the time to listen and help her explore her options.

She had experienced some unexpected challenges that affected her finances and her credit. But she was already taking steps to get back on track—working hard, reducing expenses and looking for ways to rebuild her credit and create a stronger financial future.

When she sat down with our team, we started with a conversation.

We talked about ways to rebuild credit, establish positive financial habits and manage debt. We also learned that reliable transportation was important to keeping her moving forward.

Rather than looking at just one number, our team took the time to understand the bigger picture, including the steps she was already taking and her commitment to moving forward.

Ultimately, we were able to help her with the financing she needed for her vehicle while also giving her guidance for rebuilding her credit.

For us, that's what this story is really about.

Banking should be about more than transactions. It's about listening, understanding where someone is today and helping them find a path toward where they want to be.

At Community Focus, that's what being a community-focused credit union means.

Everyone has a story. We're here to listen.
