In recognition of CU Kind Day and National Bullying Prevention Month, Community Focus FCU employees worked together to assemble 300 personal hygiene and essentials kits for students at Sabbath Middle School.
Each kit included everyday personal care items designed to help students feel comfortable, confident, and prepared for their school day.
For many families, the cost of everyday essentials can add up. By providing these kits, we hope to ease a small financial burden while reminding students that their community cares about their well-being.
A Team Effort Rooted in the Credit Union Difference
Employees from our Brownstown and Ecorse branches joined forces to prepare the kits as part of our CU Kind Day celebration.
The project was made possible with support from a Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF) grant, helping us turn a simple idea into a meaningful community initiative. Read more about the statewide CU Kind Day initiative and grant recipients.
CU Kind Day is a reminder of what makes credit unions different. As member-owned financial cooperatives, we believe in the philosophy of People Helping People. That commitment extends beyond our branches and into the neighborhoods, schools, and organizations that make our communities stronger.
Supporting Students Beyond the Classroom
Our partnership with Sabbath Middle School reflects our commitment to supporting local youth and building lasting relationships with schools throughout Wayne and Monroe counties.
National Bullying Prevention Month also provides an important opportunity to encourage kindness, inclusion, and respect. We hope this project serves as a reminder to students that even small gestures of kindness can make a difference.
Building Brighter Futures, Together
At Community Focus FCU, community involvement isn't just something we do once a year. It's part of who we are.
Whether we're supporting local schools, participating in volunteer projects, or helping families build financial confidence, our goal remains the same: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us.
We're grateful to Sabbath Middle School for welcoming this partnership and to the Michigan Credit Union Foundation for helping make this initiative possible.
Because building brighter futures starts with caring for the communities we call home.
Community Focus Federal Credit Union proudly serves individuals and families throughout Wayne and Monroe counties, with branches in Brownstown and Ecorse, Michigan.
