Why Brownstown Residents Choose a Credit Union Instead of a Bank

When you're looking for a checking account in Brownstown, you have plenty of choices. But there's an important difference between a credit union and a traditional bank.

Community Focus Federal Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative, not a for-profit bank. That means our focus is on helping members reach their financial goals—not maximizing profits for shareholders.

  • Member-Owned

As a member-owned credit union, we focus on helping people—not shareholders. That means better value and service designed around your financial success.

  • Local Service

Our Brownstown team provides friendly, personal service from people who know the communities we serve.

  • Better Value

Enjoy competitive rates, fewer fees, and products designed to help you make the most of your money.

  • Digital Banking

Bank anytime with Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Mobile Deposit, CardCentral, and access to 30,000+ surcharge-free ATMs.

  • Community-Focused

Since 1961, we've proudly supported local schools, nonprofits, and community organizations throughout Wayne and Monroe Counties.

  • People First

Whether you're opening your first account or switching financial institutions, our Brownstown team is ready to help you every step of the way.

1APY = Annual Percentage Yield. To earn the advertised dividend for your High Yield Checking account, you must meet the following minimum checking account requirements each statement cycle: (1) make minimum 10 debit card purchase transactions on accounts to which you are an owner during the statement cycle, (2) receive an aggregate of $1,000 or more during the statement cycle in recurring direct deposits to the account, and (3) be enrolled in Online Banking and receive monthly eStatements. Statement cycle: The statement cycle is defined as the period beginning on the first day of each calendar month and ending on the last day of the same month. If you don’t meet the qualifications for the advertised dividend, you will not be eligible to earn dividends for that month. Rates and terms are subject to change without notice. Dividends are paid on average daily balance, at the end of the month.  All transactions have to settle the account in order to meet the qualifications for both direct deposit and debit card purchases. If you close your account before interest is paid, you may not receive the accrued interest. Fees may reduce earnings on the account. Limit one high interest checking per Social Security number.
