Community Involvement

Every year, we work with local organizations that provide education and basic needs to our communities at large, donating time and/or money to help advance good causes locally.

Meet the Need Program 

The Meet the Need program is a multi-faceted initiative supporting Downriver community.

  • Community Focus Federal Credit Union donates $10 to a select local Downriver non-profit 501(c)(3) organization on behalf of new members who join the credit union by opening a new savings account. New members can designate one of the four charities for the donation.
  • Community Focus FCU team members "Jeans for Charity" donations support the 501(c)(3) local Downriver organizations selected on quarterly basis. 
  • Community Focus FCU team members volunteer their time to help local Downriver charities. 

Cash for Class Grants for Teachers

Cash for Class is a program created in order to help the Downriver educators who may be struggling with obtaining funds through their school districts for the implementation of special projects or a purchase or equipment, books or supplies. The program is open to all teachers who live, work, or worship in one of the Downriver communities. Check out the 2023 Cash for Class Grant recipients. 

Scholarships

Community Focus Federal Credit Union supports graduating high school students by offering scholarships to offset expenses of higher education. Meet the 2024 CFFCU Scholarship Recipients.

Food Pantry Partner

CFFCU is committed to supporting local efforts to eradicate hunger and proud to be an offical food pantry collection site for our partner, Fish & Loaves. We also welcome monetary donations. We are thankful for our members' support in these efforts. Together, we can help create healthy and hunger-free community. 

Toys for Tots Collection Site

We are proud to partner with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program every holiday season. The mission of the Toys for Tots drive is to collect new, unwrapped toys for the less fortunate children in our community. We are excited to invite our members to help spread the holiday cheer by supporting the Toys for Tots program at our branches.
